# FAQ

Quick answers about Private Solutions DMA hardware and setup. Product details can vary by model; always check the current listing and the instructions supplied with your device.

### Where do I compare the hardware?

See the current [DMA cards](https://privatesolution.org/products/#hardware-dma), [Fusers](https://privatesolution.org/products/#hardware-fusers), [Aim & Accessories](https://privatesolution.org/products/#hardware-aim), and [bundles](https://privatesolution.org/products/#hardware-bundle) on PrivateSolution.org.

### Do all devices connect the same way?

No. Port layouts, cables, power needs, and supported display modes depend on the exact model. Follow its labels and supplied documentation; do not assume visually similar devices use the same wiring.

### Do I need to change BIOS settings?

Usually not. Start with default settings and the basic cable/card checks. See [BIOS Settings](https://guides.privatesolution.org/dma-card-setup/bios-settings) only if troubleshooting calls for it, and change one setting at a time.

### Should I disable Secure Boot, IOMMU, Core Isolation, or Kernel DMA Protection?

Keep security protections enabled by default. Do not turn them off based on a generic tip. If a specific supported setup needs review, ask Private Solutions support for guidance tied to your exact motherboard and product.

### Which card, firmware, or accessory is right for me?

It depends on the exact hardware and your intended setup. Compare the specifications on the [product catalog](https://privatesolution.org/products/), then [open a Discord ticket](https://discord.gg/XFEkf2kV26) with the model names and your PC details before ordering.

### What should I send when asking for help?

Share the product model, motherboard and CPU, Windows version, a photo or sketch of the connections, and the exact error or behavior. Never share passwords, recovery keys, or private account tokens.

### Where can I get the installation and test steps?

Use the guides for [installing the card](https://guides.privatesolution.org/dma-card-setup/install-the-dma-card), [connecting the second PC](https://guides.privatesolution.org/dma-card-setup/connect-the-2nd-pc), and [running the speed test](https://guides.privatesolution.org/dma-card-setup/speedtest). ## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://guides.privatesolution.org/dma-card-setup/faq.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
