# XMA Setup Guide

Fifteen minutes. No case opening, no extra hardware.

## Before you start

* Main PC running Windows 10 or 11
* A Discord ticket open with us

## Steps

1. **Tell us your motherboard model.** Open a ticket and send us the model (or run any system info tool and send a screenshot). This is the one thing we need from you.
2. **We confirm it works.** We check your board and tell you which plan fits. You only pay after we confirm.
3. **Pay for your plan.** See [Payment Methods](/hardware/payment-methods.md).
4. **Download the loader.** We send you the link in your ticket.
5. **Run the loader on the main PC** and follow the steps on screen. It sets everything up for your board.
6. **Restart when it asks** and you are done.

## Every time you want to use it

1. Run the loader on the main PC.
2. Wait for it to finish.
3. Start your game.

That is the whole routine.

## Common questions

**Can I use XMA on a laptop?** Usually yes — tell us your laptop model in the ticket and we check it.

**What if my motherboard is not supported?** We will tell you before you pay, and point you at [hardware](/hardware/hardware-products.md) or [RDMA](/rdma-setup/welcome-to-rdma.md) if that fits better.

**Can I switch between XMA and hardware later?** Yes. Nothing we set up stops you from buying a card later and switching.

Not sure about a step? Your ticket stays open until you are playing.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://guides.privatesolution.org/xma-setup/xma-setup-guide.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
